5/14, very late in the evening.
[ She'd been ignoring her new phone for most of the day. It was petty, but she considered it Schrodinger's Device - so long as she refuses to unlock it, there's an equal chance that her phone both will and won't have that mysterious nightmare attached to it.
Or. That was the plan. Except after dinner the damn thing practically burned a hole in her pocket from the screen being on too long - and lo and behold, there it was.
Might as well warn anyone else who cares. Maybe it'll hit the people she talked to. ]
So. For anyone who was wondering, let me save you 4000 macca and a whole lot of effort.
Don't replace your phone. This... disaster of an application just comes back, immediately, and starts acting up again. It seemed to already know my screen name too - I didn't enter it myself, or re-answer the questions.
Be careful. Something weird is going on.
This has been a public safety announcement from your local (nice) Baalberith.
PS: Don't listen to the other one of 'me'. Save yourselves.

I highly doubt they broke in., though. [ Her mom would've freaked. ] Where I'm staying looks to be fine. And it stayed in my pocket all day, so it couldn't be that either. Which... doesn't leave many options.

49: Although at least you have an optimistic way of looking at it.
49: All the options are either "way too much ability and resources than most people have access to" or, frankly, magic.
49: And honestly...
49: I'd rather magic suddenly turn out to be real and everything to be obnoxious than the former idea.

[ -didn't think about it like that. Oops. ]
Nevermind!! Ugh, it's stupid anyway. I just wanted to help.
Magic would be the kind solution, wouldn't it? All your dreams are real, in exchange for one odd little application on your phone. So far there's no proof saying it's _not_...
[ Something about that sticks with her. ] In any case, 'how' it came back is still hard to define. I don't think it's physical.

49: I feel if it was magic, we would have discovered that by now as a species.
49: But if it *is*, if it turns out to be the kind of magical destiny I don't want, do you think I can return it and get a refund?
no subject
You never know. We could have discovered it, and then lost it somehow. Or it might be the type of magic that has since been reclassified into other "mundane" sorts of things. Historical myth is full of that sort of thing after all.
Hah. I somehow doubt there's a magical destiny refund store. If there was, wouldn't every fictional hero keep returning theirs until they get a perfect fit?
Though you _might_ be able to squeeze in a two-for-one special on your choice of mystical traveling companions, if you're lucky.

49: Sufficiently advanced science is indistinguishable from magic.
49: Anyway the difference between them and us is that they're fictional.
49: I feel we should get some leeway.
49: Especially since I'm not entirely sure I know anyone who'd be a good enough mystical traveling companion.
