I don't know why everyone's reacting like this. It's not like I did it on purpose. And if it saves at least one other person some misfortune, I consider it all worth it.

I highly doubt they broke in., though. [ Her mom would've freaked. ] Where I'm staying looks to be fine. And it stayed in my pocket all day, so it couldn't be that either. Which... doesn't leave many options.

You never know. We could have discovered it, and then lost it somehow. Or it might be the type of magic that has since been reclassified into other "mundane" sorts of things. Historical myth is full of that sort of thing after all.

Hah. I somehow doubt there's a magical destiny refund store. If there was, wouldn't every fictional hero keep returning theirs until they get a perfect fit?
