No amount of reasoning could support taking one's life simply because you were wronged.

[ Heiji would agree that the perpetrator was reprehensible, and deserved consequences for their actions, but he didn't think they deserved to die because of it. ]

There's alternative forms of punishment. There's no reason to kill them.
