it's one day after getting the app, and mako did what he said he would: he took his phone over to an IT guy to get it checked, only to be met with a strange look.

"I don't know what app you're talking about."

needless to say, mako is frustrated as hell. (yoshio and minako may notice him pacing the floor angrily at home.) but he said he'd keep everyone posted, so...here it is. a psa utilizing some of the fancy features the app has to offer. ]

he told me he didn't know what i was talking about? to him, my phone looked completely fine.
so i tried to pull up the app but it shut down and disappeared. completely.

yeah. don't ask me how that happened because i have no idea either.

they weren't lying when they said that this app was private.

I... hope you don't mind that I did some digging of my own, with those comments. I wanted to be caught up with the situation, after reading this.

[And yes, she feels more than a little self conscious that she may have dug up something personal, that she shouldn't have. That's not her goal here; it's just to gather as much information as possible, and leave personal secrets or issues as they are.

Uncovering secrets isn't her; at least, she wants to THINK that isn't her. It's been a running current to her thoughts, ever since the prior night.]

I just checked my own laptop in the dorms as well. And the program has jumped to there, too. I've switched to typing on the keyboard, for better accuracy and browsing. If it IS going to make a home on my electronics, then I intend to utilize them.

that's fine and all, but i actually wish it didn't show up on my other devices. i'd rather it not infect everything i own, if that makes sense.

No, it makes sense you wouldn't want it spreading to everything. It's a sentiment I share... but if this is the way things are going, I want to try and optimize the situation somehow. Even if it's as simple as deciding which devices I should do further networking and conversations on.

I don't want to passively accept it. I've never felt satisfied when forced to do that.

i understand. i feel the same. it's frustrating to be thrown into a situation you have no control over, and then being told that you need to accept it.

it's not fair. there has to be a way to figure this out before our days are up.

I'm trying to determine some good starting points on this app, to focus on.

I've even visited the local computer science branch at my academy, to see if it may have originated from there. But I uncovered nothing; no project history on any of the terminals, and nothing in the syllabus saying that there's any assignments that might prompt the creation of such a program.

And I admit, I couldn't stay for long after uncovering that; not with the daylight diminishing the way it was, and my own homework still needing attention.

i haven't taken it to anyone at the academy yet. someone mentioned that they'll at least get them to take a look at the inside of the phone and see if there's anything wrong. i don't know if they'll directly mention the app or not but we've got nothing to lose.

well besides our integrity, i guess. since it's taking the risk of sounding crazy and all.

That's the one risk, I suppose. And it's why I try to take a round-about way of inquiring.

But... there's something to be said for the direct approach. We wouldn't have discovered what we did, without you taking the chance you did.
