☸ Andromalius

[A flash of memory. He was pressed up against a wall, aiming a camera as he listened intently to the voices coming from around the wall. Distracted by the definitely illegal deal he was overhearing, he barely manages to catch the sound of soft footsteps coming from behind in time. He turns, only to meet the eyes of a tall man in black with long silver hair. Frightening eyes, he notices. The eyes of a killer. He barely manages to catch the man’s words as he pulls out a bar of metal from his coat.]

This is the end of your detective games.

[He turns and tries to run, but is struck on the head before he can get more than a few steps away. His camera falls to the ground out of numb hands as he collapses to the ground. Already semi-conscious, he still manages to catch the few words exchanged as the other main in black approaches.]

This brat followed you. Cops are still snooping around because of the recent fuss.

Then what should we do?

Let’s use this. This new poison developed by the Organization. [Flipping open a small box of pills, the taller man in black pulls him up by a grip in his hair, and forces a pill down his throat, followed by a vial of water. He chokes, but can’t manage to avoid swallowing.] They won’t be able to find any traces of poison. This is the stuff for the perfect crime. Although I heard this was a prototype that had not been tested on humans before.

They push him back to the ground and turn to leave. He catches one last phrase.]

Farewell, Great Detective.

[As their footsteps disappear, he begins to cough as the pill starts to take effect. One second, two, and he convulses as pain like he had never felt before starts to overwhelm him. He screams, as steam starts to rise from his body.

His blood, his bones…. It was like they were melting.]

[ Conan lets out a small scream as he wakes from the memory. It takes him several moments to become aware of his surroundings again. He stares down at the phone, his hands still shaking, only to discover that he had already selected an answer. ]

2) I stand up for them and propose to be their lawyer so that they get a fair trial. I have no idea what being a lawyer could even be, but that way I can figure out a way to save them and give myself more time.

[He stares at the answer for a long moment, and then adds another comment.]

Why wasn't there an option to be their detective?
