7 DAYS REMAIN
Seven days remain. As the last day of the festival draws to a close, the only thing of interest to note for the week is how great everything has gone. Not a single attack has been reported...
But things have already been set alight inside the hearts of those chosen few who have received the app on their phones. For some, it's just the first bite of the apple. For others, it's been like shaking down an entire tree. Things are beginning to look...strange. Surely there are more burning questions on their minds by now.
The warning bells of the Nightly Curfew ring across the city. There's a faint hum from the phone this time before the icon appears. This time it displays a time: 1:00AM
The rest of the night is normal. Perhaps you've cuddled up with family, or you've gone to bed early to wait, but sure enough, time tick by right until 1 in the morning when....
You're back into that application again. A single question before you're even permitted to type anything else. And while it seems to be overwritten by something inside of you, it feels a lot more natural than before. Which is, truthfully...troubling.
Once you are done, you are tossed once more into the main chatroom. Now your user names are the names that you wrote down in the last survey, but with all those questions it's....hard not to think of them as your own. Maybe you'll be cursing at this device, but it looks like you're already deep down the rabbit hole by now.
[OOC: This is the final network post before Awakening. Users will now be able to speak of who they are in their AU life without the information being blocked by the application.
Additionally, while they will not get any new on their own, speaking with Luci might grant the Awakened more memories...be careful that they don't get more than they bargained for.]

WELCOME TO THE FINAL QUIZ!
Answer from the heart, the part of you that has been denied for far too long.
Is your life here a lie?
Yes | Definitely | Sure | I've had my doubts before, but yes | Hell Yes | There is no other conclusion | I wish I could deny it and live here peacefully but it's true.
Thank you...that will be all. Let us see what your heart blooms into...

[It's not quite a question, because it all fits together too well. But he wanted to check, because if Luci is coming to them voluntarily and 'playing his part', then that means that he may be here to give them more than they've been given previously. There's an opportunity.
He doesn't hesitate before answering this time.]
i haven't needed to leave. i've had things to do here. are you saying that i can't leave right now?
no subject
no subject
i can't right now.
[He will be trying tomorrow, though, just in case. He can take the subway to the outskirts, and go farther on his own scooter. He hasn't gone beyond that in a long time.]
is this related to the question tonight? or how tonight is different from the others?
✪ Luci
Luci: Think of it as stretching out a muscle that hasn't had much exercise in a long while.
no subject
exercising the mind? or a muscle for believing?
you're saying... it's preparing us for whatever is going on with this app. our lives. this city.
[Part of him resists, still wary of how suspicious everything is and fundamentally unwilling to take the next step out of instinctive dread. The more practical part of him recognizes that this won't likely go away if he digs himself deeper into the sand.]
we don't have a choice, do we?
[Sand has a way of washing away, after all.]
✪ Luci
Luci: The wheel of fate tends to only move forward after its been pushed
no subject
and asking us whether we believe in fate. which is it?
[Was there ever a point at which the wheel wasn't trying to run them over? If there's one thing he agreed with on last week's peculiarly pleasant questionnaire, it was that fate wasn't a thing. Neither Haruka nor, apparently, Lenka believes in such a thing.]
✪ Luci
Luci: Indeed. It's an interesting question to ponder, isn't it?
no subject
[It's not like he hadn't entertained the thought of the app itself being behind the murders somehow -- there's certainly enough suspicious and frightening activity -- but Haruka hadn't yet quite been able to pin down why one would go to such elaborate lengths to commit a murder (or ten, at that). He doesn't pretend to understand how that works. This, though -- this is the first he's heard of a third party, and he can already feel how much of an additional headache it's all going to be.
But it's not like he can back down anymore.]
i won't accept something as abstract as fate from a phone app. but if there is a real they, we should be prepared. what can you tell me?
✪ Luci
Luci: Good! That's the type of attitude I like to see, kid.
Luci: Get a good night's sleep before the last night.
Luci: That's helpful, right?
no subject
[He's not sure if he actually wants to tempt fate, or have the kind of attitude someone like Luci would approve of; first of all, he knows very little about either of the above, and jumping into something blindly is... probably not a great idea given current events. Even if it doesn't seem like they'll get to do much of anything else.]
i've been trying to get sleep. [just a bit petulant, given how many of his Saturdays he's now spent wide awake and staring at things he'd rather not see, in multiple dimensions] i don't think it helps that much, with what we're getting.
✪ Luci
Luci: A good sleep equals a healthy mind and whatever else they say after that
Luci: Those types of lessons really aren't my style
no subject
[Normally, he isn't one to need lectures to go to bed at a reasonable time and wake up way too early on Sunday mornings. But nothing about the past few weeks has been normal, thanks.]
but you've told me some useful things. the app is here to protect us, you said, from the murders. does it protect us from them, too?
[And does it follow that the two are related? If he's going to lose sleep over it, he'll keep digging.]
✪ Luci
Luci: At least, not yet.
