Likely many of us have at least attempted to look up the meaning behind the names we were first given when this app showed up. Some of us likely looked up the meaning of names from those we had struck up conversations with.

I was no exception and after verifying from what little resource is available I've resigned myself to the puns and jokes that will appear once the meaning of Marchosias is known by most of us on here, doubly so in regards to such due to the fact it seems those bearing this name are the most numerous here.

And to pull the metaphorical band aide off this as quickly as possible.

Marchosias apparently is some entity that some new age circles call to for help with loyalty, and is mostly depicted as a winged wolf.

Please deposit your jokes and puns here so it's out of your systems before the suppose reveal of information happening in five days.

[If anyone was walking about or also using one of the many outdoor tables on the lawns of Green Valley. You may have stumbled upon Christopher gently face planting in resignation on the tabletop he's currently sitting at, before he types rapidly on his phone. [ Romulus doesn't even hesitate as he storms down the hall towards Gen, armed with a nerf crossbow and several years of rugby and CT.

He doesn't hesitate to raise the crossbow and shoot Gen, reloading and firing without even breaking stride. ]

[Gen breathes out, and then moves, darting forward to grab Rommy's wrist with one hand and knock the gun out of his grip with the other. That done, he drives his elbow into his attacker's gut, hard, letting go of the wrist at the same time.]

[ The blow knocks the air out of Rommy, any pissy comment or sarcastic remark lost as he doubles over, wheezing.

Whatever he'd been expecting, it hadn't been that.

Any attempt at a brawl had been knocked out of him with his air, and he focuses instead on catching his breath ]

[Gen goes over and grabs the gun, just holding it loosely by his side.]

It's not that bad. If I had wanted to really hurt you, I would have. But that would have gone against what I teach. This is for self-defense. So the lesson here is... don't make someone with a background in Krav Maga have to defend.

Yes. ... Not those techniques, exactly. That's for older students. But the fundamentals, yes.

I do, though I tend to teach younger students. Closer to Ciro's age. Still, if you want to learn, I can give you the dojo's name and number.

[ The grin fades slightly, turning into confusion ]

It's not a bad thing, it just means you have to adjust a bit when fighting.

Like the fact that you're at a disadvantage when fighting shorter opponents, who can get under your center of gravity more easily to throw you or shove you off balance.

Size doesn't always mean strength. Sure, you probably have weight on a smaller opponent and could pin them, but they'll need smaller openings to get by you. You can compensate for that, just like a shorter person can compensate for a short reach.

Really, there's too many factors when it comes down to a fight, and a lot of them come down to 'how trained are you' and 'how outnumbered are you'.

So how often do you teach? I've got CT and Rugby, but that leaves most of the week open.

A few times a week. Usually Mondays and Wednesdays for different levels, and then the classes I take are on Fridays. It's more of a mixed martial arts studio, so they have a lot of different styles that they teach.

What level should I start with?

I've got rugby on Tuesdays and Thursdays, so that's not an issue.

It's based on age, but if you drop by we an do some testing to see if you need beginner or intermediate. It's more about being able to memorize the movements than anything else. You can get caught up, but only if you can show that you can memorize them. We don't want anyone getting put up against someone they're not equipped to match.

When should I come for the tests?

... Come in on Friday after about three, we can set you up then. I'll tell the secretary to schedule you a spot.

[ Rommy nods, excited, then- ]

Hey, uh. Can I have that back? It's my practice bow, I kinda need it for CT.

Only if you can snatch it from my palm, young grasshopper.

[He waits a beat, and then chuckles, holding it out.]

Just kidding. Here.

[ Rommy was already eyeing 92's hand when he gives up suddenly, and he grabs the crossbow with caution, watching him carefully to see if he'll be pulling anything. ]
