okay so if anyone is still trying to replace their phone either thanks to trying to get rid of this app or through actions taken as a result of this app that may have resulted in the destruction of their phones
lazer's pawn is having a really excellent deal on phones right now
you should all go check it out, mention this app and get a free case with your phone

and I'm not going anywhere
[He's actually got the shades off when she comes in. Amazing, he must be serious for once.]
How about we call it even and cut each other a little slack, huh?
no subject
[She doesn't have answers. Ayu is hoping that her uncle might.]
So, what do you know? You have to know something, right? With your criminal contacts and the government officials in your pocket...
[She might be comparing him to a manga villain.]

[Even if he looks a little tired now, he still gets a good laugh at that last accusation.]
Funny thing about the app--it was kind of hard to talk about it at first. No one's said anything to me, I couldn't say anything to them.
[Not gonna deny criminal contacts or government officials in his pocket, even if the only one of the latter is a DMV employee who owes him quite a bit of money.]

[She feels as tired as he looks. Her youth isn't sparing her from sleeplessness and worry. She sighs, too, because that's the sort of answer Ayu expected.]
That's how I felt, too. I was really worried Natsume would find out I have it for some reason, but not in a normal way. I met someone else with it once, but we only realized because he had his phone out.
[And that feels forever ago. Things are only going to get worse, too.]

[He shakes his head.]
Just you guys? Not your mom? Only other one I've met in person was a kid I'm really just guessing at.
no subject
[Given Ayu's track record, it's not surprising that her mom doesn't believe her. Crying wolf. That's what she's doing. She still sounds upset about not being believed.]
You really don't know what's going to happen? Nothing at all? ...I guess you wouldn't, but I was really hoping you would.

[He knows how this goes.]
For once in my life, I've run into something that's way out of my wheelhouse. Last time that happened, I was five and found an 8-track, go figure.
no subject
[She hadn't yelled or anything, but Ayu could tell...if she pushed it just a bit more, something was going to happen. And it scared her.]
What's an 8-track? Is that some sort of ancient technology forsaken by both the gods and modern man?
no subject
[If he can take some of the blame when the kids need it...he will.]
It is definitely some kind of forsaken ancient technology. And on the rare cases you can get them to release their knowledge, they make horrible funkadelic noises.
no subject
[The sad story of why Ayu and Natsume are always unsupervised.]
Hmmm...it sounds like you could use them to summon a rare monster or something. Like a bear. Would it be better to deal with a bear or with a strange cellphone app? It's kind of a toss-up. I could probably fight off a bear, but it'd be risky.
no subject
[He shakes his head.]
Actually, you'd probably scare the bear off with it, maybe summon a few senior citizens with the urge to boogie.
no subject
[If only life were as simple as kid's movies.]
That's even worse! I don't want old people to dance in front of me. I'd rather have the bear. I'll pass on all of this and just ride the bear, okay?
no subject
[Surely there's some cosmic balance at stake here.]
Yeah, sure, first bear that comes in here, you can ride it.
no subject
[It's the worst for a number of reasons. Being from a divorced family is hard, she'd be super lost without Natsume sometimes.]
Alright. So, I'm riding the bear. ...but let's get back on track. Why do you think we have this? All three of us? What could it mean?
no subject
[It's hard to say whether or not he's joking about that, even as they're getting back on track.]
That's a good question. A real good question...and not one that I've found an answer to just yet.
no subject
[She nods sagely, as if making a list of which relatives to rough up is a completely normal thing.]
So...what are you going to do about it? I'm not going to give you my cellphone, you know. I'm not sure if you're going to ask, but I'm part of this, too.
no subject
[Hey, he can make up this sort of list all day.]
I'm gonna ask you to get me if you're gonna go off and do something crazy with this, that's what I'm gonna do. I'm not even going to try to stop you from getting at the app. You've been dealing with it all this time.
[Mostly because he's fairly certain he can't stop the app from following her device to device, that too.]
